Chapter Thirteen (Sarah)
For the last chapter, the author tries to be more optimistic and talk about how humans are changing the world and how we should focus more on the present and what people are doing to help the environment and endangered species. I think the past should be focused on just as much as the present in this situation since the past shows what humans have done and it can emphasize both the good and bad that humans are doing. For example, some scientists are trying to help preserve and save rhinos which is good compared to what was happening before.
The author mentions how laws are being passed to help protect species. An example of one of these laws is the Endangered Species Act. Are more acts like this planning to be passed in the future? The author mentions how the act has been very good in protecting endanger species so I was wondering if laws like this will continue to be passed.
